Aquarium

Aquarium This is an exchange puzzle from IPP 38 (International Puzzle Party) in San Diego from Allan Stein and Siebenstein-Spiele. This appealing packing puzzle’s objective is to fit the five little fishes together with the 8 plexi-plates into the frame.  The background of the “aquarium” is made in a striking variety of wood and each fish has its own unique color. Made in laser-cut wood and acrylic by Siebenstein-Spiele. Based in Munster, Germany, Siebenstein-Spiele was founded in 1992. Although the company is mainly known for board games, Siebenstein-Spiele also makes many wooden puzzles, several of which have been designed by company founder Jürgen Reiche. Wood Colors May Vary.

Trying to see how pieces fit and re-assessing where they might go when they don’t fit is a good exercise in checking and re-evaluating choices. Each piece can only go in to one place so there is none of the compromising and trading-off that takes place in so many other aspects of modern life. This forces the player to constantly re-evaluate their decisions, and teaches patience with the process as it is an integral part of the game.
