Cast U&U Note: Our level rating system is different than Hanayama’s.  Hanayama’s level 1 is equivalent to our level 5…. level 6 is equivalent to our level 10. Two U-shaped bolts and four nuts – this looks like a combination of spare parts but looks are deceiving. This puzzle comes with a deviously hidden trick. The key to unlocking these parts is to look carefully at each part first. As quoted by the Puzzle Wanderer when solving the puzzle: “U&U danced an elegant dance of moves in front of my very own enthusiastic eyes!” The theme is complexity. It was designed by Kyoo Wong. Won puzzle of the year at IPP 2014 in London, U.K.

Separate the two U’s

The simplicity of the puzzles is misleading. Although the concept is quite simple – finding the pieces and repairing them together – an amazing level of mental activity is required to complete the necessary steps to complete a puzzle. Psychological studies have identified a number of thought processes that are necessary to achieve what is in fact a complex process of identifying shapes and images and relating them to a general pattern. More importantly, solving puzzles is great work for the brain and can have therapeutic benefits.
