Escher Cubes

Escher Cubes A baffling puzzle based on M.C. Escher’s interlocking cubes design. Several of the shapes shown are interconnected to form oddly-shaped pieces. The objective is to remove all pieces and place them back in the hexagonal frame. Each piece is composed of similar-looking patterns, so finding the correct arrangement is very difficult. Made in laser-cut wood by Jean-Claude Constantin. Jean-Claude Constantin lives in Germany, where he designs and manufactures many different wood and metal puzzles, as well as magic tricks and other intellectual toys and games.

Mix it up and put back to start

Trying to see how pieces fit and re-assessing where they might go when they don’t fit is a good exercise in checking and re-evaluating choices. Each piece can only go in to one place so there is none of the compromising and trading-off that takes place in so many other aspects of modern life. This forces the player to constantly re-evaluate their decisions, and teaches patience with the process as it is an integral part of the game.
